Jakarta, CNN Indonesia -- Two residents who were victims of a landslide in Ngetos Village,
Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, East Java Province were found dead by the SAR Team,
Sunday (14/2) night.

"Four victims were found last night, two people are still alive and two people died buried under
landslides," said Coordinator of Disaster Preparedness (Tagana) of Nganjuk Regency Aris Trio
Effendi, Monday (15/2).

Aris said the number of residents who were reported missing buried by landslides was
continuously being recorded. If previously there were 23 people reported, Tagana Nganjuk
actually received reports of 20 missing people. However, this data is constantly being updated.

He said that with the data of 20 people and four people were found, currently officers are still
looking for 16 other people. The joint SAR team searched by bringing in heavy equipment.

"Currently, heavy equipment has started its journey to the location. 16 people have not been
found," he said.

According to Aris, there has been a fracture from the remaining landslides of previous years in
the village. The location of this landslide also occurred in hilly areas and many houses.

Heavy rains hit Nganjuk Regency on Sunday (15/2) from noon to night causing heavy flooding
in the city area and landslides in Ngeos Village, Nganjuk Regency.

As a result of the landslide, there were about 13 houses damaged. A total of 160 people
evacuated because their homes were affected by landslides. Meanwhile, 14 people were injured.

Until now, the joint SAR team is still looking for victims who are suspected of being buried by
the landslide. Apart from Tagana Nganjuk, members of the TNI, as well as other volunteers
helped search for victims.

CHAPTER III

CLOSING

A. Conclusion

Landslide is a geological event which is one type of soil or rock mass movement, or a mixture of
both, down or out of the slope as a result of the disruption of the stability of the soil or rocks that
make up the slope. Landslides occur because there is a disturbance in the stability of the
soil/rocks that make up the slopes. that occurs due to the movement of rock or soil masses of
various types and types such as the fall of rocks or large lumps of soil.

B. Suggestion

Disasters can happen anytime and anywhere, but we must know the types of disasters, the causes
that lead to disasters and their consequences.

Suggestions, I convey to all parties to anticipate and manage disasters so as not to cause
environmental damage, death tolls and large property losses.
