21st Century Script Roleplay
Narrator: On the other hand, Alunsina was a goddess who was lazy, envious,
and self-centered. She spent the entire day doing nothing except sitting by the
window. (Mag-aact si Alunsina)
Alunsina: (breathes heavily while staring at her nails) Doing things is just a
waste of time and it will just make me less pretty.
Narrator: Tungkung Langit fell in love with Alunsina. After courting her for an
extended period, he eventually proposed to her,
Narrator: And the two of them finally got married and made their home in the
highest region of heaven.
Tungkung Langit: Marrying you is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I
promise to spend my lifetime with you.
Narrator: There, the breeze was always refreshing, and the water was always at
a comfortable temperature. The establishment of order and routine started
then. (Sound effects)
Narrator: One day, Tungkung Langit informed his wife one day that he would
be absent for an extended time. He insisted that it was his responsibility to
keep time running smoothly and to organize everything in the world. (Aalis si
Tungkung Langit sa scene na ‘to)
Narrator: After he had left, Alunsina ordered the wind to monitor his husband
while he was away. (May aarte as a wind with sound effects) When Tungkung
Langit learned this, it caused him to feel a great deal of rage. After he had come
home, he had a conversation with her wife.
Tungkung Langit: Why did you order the breeze to monitor me? (Pagalit na
tono)
Narrator: Due to Tungkung Langit’s anger, the god drove his wife away. (umalis
nang disheartened) No one knew where Alunsina went.
Narrator: Days passed by and the man felt very lonely. (Palakad-lakad lang sa
room)
Narrator: Since there was no one to greet him at the door or massage the
hurting muscles in his arms, he would experience the same feeling of
loneliness creeping deep into his heart every afternoon when he returned home
from work. (Nakaupo si Tungkong Langit at nag da-drama)
Narrator: For months, Tungkung Langit remained in absolute desolation.
Despite his best efforts, he was unable to track down Alunsina.
Tungkung Langit: Alunsina, where are you? (Pasigaw sinabi) Comeback here,
Alunsina… (Nililibot ang room tapos hinahanap lang si Alunsina)
Tungkung Langit: I shall create both the land and the water! (Lumitaw ang
lupa at tubig) (Nakakunot ang noo) It feels so bare! (Bumaba sa langit at nag
tanim ng trees at flowers)
Narrator: When he was done with his works, he scattered his wife’s treasured
jewels in the sky, hoping that when Alunsina would see them she might be
induced to return home. (Ikinalat mga alahas) (Lumiwanag ang mukha ni
Tungkung Langit dahil nagkaroon siya ng hope na mapapawi rin agad) The
goddess' necklace became stars, her comb turned into the moon, and her
crown became the sun. (Itataas props)
Narrator: However, despite Tungkung Langit’s efforts, Alunsina did not come
back.
Narrator: Even now, some Panayan elders still believe that Tungkung Langit
resides solely in his palace high in the clouds. Sometimes, to release the
feelings that had been building up inside him, he would break down and cry
until his tears fell to the ground. You hear Tungkung Langit wailing and
begging with his beloved Alunsina to return to him; pleading may be heard
throughout the fields and region. When the storm is very intense, you can
listen to him sobbing. (Umiiyak, sumisigaw, humihiyaw, pighati, ouch, pain,
nagwawala si Tungkung Langit)
