Explain that authors often draw inspiration from their cultural background, historical events, environmental surroundings, and personal experiences when writing. 2. Brainstorming Activity (10 minutes): Engage students in a brainstorming session where they identify di昀昀erent Pre 30 minutes factors that can in昀氀uence the selection of Reading texts. Encourage students to think about examples of books or stories they have read that were in昀氀uenced by cultural, historical, or environmental factors. 3. Cultural Exploration (10 minutes): Introduce students to the concept of culture and its signi昀椀cance in literature. Show examples of texts from di昀昀erent cultures and discuss how cultural elements are re昀氀ected in the stories, characters, and settings.

Allow students to choose a book or text of their choice from a selection of diverse materials. Instruct students to read silently and independently for the duration of the DEAR session.
