In the first stanza, the former president shows and explain in wonderful word that the
strength and weakness of a nation is the strength and weakness of its people which is failure and
power. The former president Quezon ends the stanza by determining what a strong and great
nation is by describing its great citizens. This continues by a great length about what the former
president perceives as a great nation and mentions Filipinos and their qualities. After that, the
president admits that in the past decades we lost qualities that matter and qualities that set us
apart as Filipinos.
The former president furthermore distinguishes what the past Filipinos and the Filipinos
today differences are. The former president also mentions our ancestors and further point out our
differences. That today’s Filipinos are soft and easygoing. After this reality check, the former
president shares with us what his and his administration’s mission and vision are. These are for
us Filipinos to be; morally strong, virile, hardworking, refined, enterprising, persevering, and
public-spirited.

The former president calls this transition to greatness the regeneration of the Filipinos.
This is the dream of the president for us to be the greatest Filipino version of the past the present
and the future. There the future, the president seeks help for those people that can educate such
as teachers and ministers, and all of us. For now, we attained freedom we must conquer our
shackles and strive for the better and best of our country. Thus the former president concludes by
saying we Filipinos shall not lag behind and that we Filipino people are on the march toward our
destiny to conquer our place in the sun.
